Two Perspectives

Two Perspectives

Good Purpose Gallery is thrilled to present Two Perspectives, a colorful collaboration between two artists with differing styles that hold a striking synergy together. Patricia Hogan’s watercolors reflects her respect and love for nature, the Berkshires and New England. Marcelene I. Mosca’s paintings express abstraction of light and color, seeking to explore poetic themes through art. The exhibition runs from Wednesday, September 12th through Monday, November 13th

Pat Hogan

Pat Hogan earned her BS in Art Education from Pennsylvania State University. She has taught art in public schools and privately in Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia and Massachusetts. Her classes and presentations have been offered throughout Berkshire County at various venues including Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Botanical Garden, Naumkeag, Bartholomew’s Cobble, and the Housatonic Valley Art League.  Hogan also serves as an invited juror for competitive art shows. Her new work includes watercolor portraits, abstract mixed media, and encaustic paintings. Her paintings are in private collections in England, Sweden, and throughout the United States.

2018-Marcelene Mosca-2

Marcelene I. Mosca has been a full-time painter since 2006 when she retired as an English teacher with a specialty in Poetry and the Arts at the High School of Art and Design in New York City. After taking every course offered at The Art Students League of New York in anatomy, portraiture, and sculpture she found her voice and passion in abstract art and studied with instructors who were especially influenced by artist, Hans Hoffman. She has exhibited extensively at the Art Students League of New York and in the Berkshires with The Guild of Berkshire Artists. Her work allows poetry to inhabit her paintings and the process involves layers of oil and venetian plaster. She has her studio and gallery in Lenox, Ma where she and her husband share their time with their New York City residence.

The Gallery is honored to host this extraordinary exhibit of two well-known and well-loved local artists.

We look forward to seeing you and enjoying this exhibit together!
