Laura Didyk & Lawrence Raab

Laura Didyk, with an MFA from the University of Alabama, has had work published in Diagram, Post Road, Alligator Juniper, Fence, Hayden’s Ferry Review, and The Sun among others. She has been awarded residencies at Yaddo and at the MacDowell Colony, where she was awarded the Rona Jaffe Foundation Fellowship. She writes and teaches in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Lawrence Raab was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He received his BA from Middlebury College, and his MA from Syracuse University. He has received the Bess Hokin prize from Poetry magazine, a Junior Fellowship from the University of Michigan Society of Fellows, and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Massachusetts Council on the Arts, and the Guggenheim Foundation, as well as numerous residences from Yaddo and the MacDowell Colony. His collection of poems, What We Don’t Know About Each Other, won the National Poetry Series and was a Finalist for the 1993 National Book Award. Recent books include The Probable World, Visible Signs: New & Selected Poems, and his seventh collection, The History of Forgetting (2009), all published by Penguin. His latest publication is a long poem, “A Cup of Water Turns into a Rose,” published in a hand-set limited edition chapbook by Adastra Press. He teaches literature and writing at Williams College.

We welcome these fine artists to our reading series and we hope you will attend! Readings will begin at 5:30 in the gallery. The authors’ books will be available for purchase . Buy local! I hope to obtain a grant for next year’s readings. I hope.
