The Life of Jessica Park
Thursday, November 15th @ 6:00pm
Dr. Tony Genarelly, PhD., Editor/Project Director of “Exploring Nirvana: The Art of Jessica Park” will present a discussion of the artist’s work and life at The Good Purpose Gallery on Thursday, November 15, 6-8 PM.
As an autistic artist, Jessica’s “extraordinary and largely mysterious world… still glows in her beautifully arresting pictures with all their odd distortions, unusual color combinations, unnatural lighting effects, astronomical phenomena and seemingly quixotic details,” according to Dr. Genarelly.
Jessica Park is a nationally known autistic artist from Williamstown, MA. who mixes line, form and shape with vivid color to create impactful images. Her work is not to be missed.
As Project Director and Editor of a book on Jessica’s art and life, published in 2008, Dr. Genarelly offers an insightful perspective into Jessy’s creative work. He is a professor of art history and museum studies at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he chairs the Fine and Performing Arts Department.
Good Purpose Gallery welcomes Dr. Genarelly and is pleased to be hosting this exhibit of JEssica Park’s work. 50% of the proceeds from any sales go to supporting student artists with learning differences.
